CRASH LANDING is a solitaire card game using a standard poker deck of cards, which simulates a space ship attempting to land on a planet. It uses a gravity mechanic and the player fires “rockets” to slow the descent. It’s sort of a clone of “Lunar Lander”, a super old video game.
I’ve not made a Boardgamegeek.com entry for this one as it’s an early work of mine and a little raw, but it still plays well enough so I decided to include it up here for historical purposes. I originally wrote this for the BoardGameGeek.com Solitaire 2012 Print and Play challenge! It came in second in the Best Traditional Card, Tarot, or Decktet Game Category.
If you are interested in the Work-in-progress thread I made during the contest, you can find it here.
CrashLanding.pdf includes the rules, a picture of the setup, and a sample of play.
